Undergraduate Final Year Project

Project Title: Strength Properties of Concrete Made by Using Tyre as a Partial Replacement of Fine and Coarse Aggregate.

Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Md. Moinul Islam, Department of Civil Engineering, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Chattogram-4349, Bangladesh.

Objectives of the project:

  • Recycling waste tyre for sustainable development,

  • Finding an acceptable limit of tyre to use in concrete,

  • Producing lightweight concrete,

  • Elastic behavior of tyre in concrete

  • Necessity of surface treatment,

  • Effect of flakiness property of tyre

  • Comparison of workability and strength properties between fresh concrete and tyre-derived aggregate concrete​

Projects

   1. A Complete Water Quality Analysis of Bacha Baba Hotel and Restaurant                                         [May 7, 2018-September 10, 2018]

    -pH, Color, Turbidity, TS, TDS, TSS, CO2, Alkalinity, Hardness, Chloride, Iron, Arsenic, BOD, COD, Total Coliform, Fecal Coliform tests

      were done on that sample of water.

   2. A complete Study on Soil Properties and Classification of Khulshi, Chattogram                           [May 10, 2018-September 13, 2018]

    -Field Identification, Natural Moisture Content, Specific Gravity, Sieve Analysis, Hydrometer Analysis, Atterberg Limit, Direct Shear Test,

     Unconfined Compression Test and Relative Density Test were done on that sample of soil.

   3. Modeling of Long Span Suspension Bridge with Bamboo Sticks                                                                                                                  [April, 2018]
